The Lowry Letter®

The Lowry Letter® - 8/20/2020

Our apologies for the two-week gap between Lowry Letters. As many of you prepare for school to begin (in one form or another), our hope is that you find a smooth transition, whether pursuing in-person or remote learning. It is not an easy choice for many.

Although it probably won’t tell you the best way to manage the problem, we hope you enjoy the items in this week’s edition!

The Lowry Letter® - 8/7/2020

As the start of the school year nears for many, we hope that uncertainty about these decisions does not overwhelm you. These experiences will provide valuable opportunities for learning and adaptation and we believe that many young people will be better prepared for the future as a result.

It is as important as ever to take time to care for yourself. We rely on good eating, exercise, prayer and meditation to help us maintain our equilibrium. As the pandemic drags on these simple habits continue to make a big difference.

We had an excellent seminar from Joni Youngwirth and will share a few highlights with you below. Unfortunately, regulations do not permit us to provide replays of the webinar but we hope to have some related materials available to share with you soon.

One memorable question was this: If you didn’t know your age, how old would you say you are?  Do we allow the calendar to determine the activities we participate in?

The Lowry Letter® - 7/15/2020

Please mark your calendars for our July 28th presentation by Joni Youngwirth on Mindful Retirement. We will provide the Zoom link for the 4pm talk by separate email next week. We have known Joni for many years and admire her professional wisdom and personal story. She is a Partner Emeritus of Commonwealth Financial Network and the executive director of the Commonwealth Cares Foundation.

We continue to prefer video conferencing whenever possible for meetings and masks are required when visiting our office, in accordance with local regulations.

The Lowry Letter® - 7/9/2020

We hope that you enjoyed a safe and healthy holiday weekend!

We are planning a Zoom seminar on “Mindful Retirement” with an excellent presenter and friend, Joni Youngwirth. It is hard to find a date and time that will work for everyone but based on feedback we have selected July 28th at 4pm. We will provide highlights of her presentation for those who are unable to attend and will provide more information prior to the talk.

Also, our June Market update is now available at this link and we hope you find the information helpful.

The Lowry Letter® - 7/2/2020

We wish you a Happy Independence Day and hope that you enjoy a safe and peaceful holiday weekend. Continued

Many of you will have received a document called Form CRS in the mail. It does not require any action, but is an explanation of the relationship you have with us and with Commonwealth, who helps to service investment accounts and oversee our activities. We will share a little more about Form CRS next week.

The Lowry Letter® - 6/24/2020

Team Lowry Financial competed in Junior Achievement of Alachua County’s first-ever Team Trivia Bowl, AND WON. We had a great time and look forward to a second online trivia event for friends and family this Thursday (June 25th). This event is open to everyone and there is a $25 entry fee per individual.

Please visit this link to register. https://alachua.ja.org/events/virtual-friends-and-family-trivia-bowl

Junior Achievement provides financial literacy and work readiness skills to children in many communities, and we have been proud to support JA financially and as volunteers for many years.

We are conscious of the rising number of COVID cases. When possible, video conference remains the ideal option for meetings. In the event that something needs to be dropped off at the office, please call ahead. When in-person meetings are scheduled, we will schedule meetings so that more than one household will not be in the office at the same time. Thank you for your understanding!

The Lowry Letter® - 6/18/2020

We hope that this finds you safe and well. Joe Jr recently enjoyed a visit to Watts Bar Lake in eastern Tennessee. It was a quiet place to enjoy family time and we hope you are able to enjoy some semblance of normal summer activities with family and friends if possible. Continued travel restrictions have made airplane travel unfeasible for many, though we hope opportunities to visit loved ones resume soon (and safely).

Thank you to everyone who responded to our brief survey. Here is the link again in case you were unable to participate: Webinar Availability

Responses have been quite varied, but we will do our best to make them accessible to as many as possible.

The improvement in the market continues to indicate great optimism for economic recovery. We remain cautious given continued uncertainty but are pleased by the upswing. Read more about May’s results in the monthly market recap here.

The Lowry Letter® - 6/4/2020

As the pandemic continues and civil and political issues are at the forefront, we will continue to respond to any concerns about how these events may impact your financial present and future.

We are planning several informative and entertaining webinars for you and would like your feedback about the days and times that might be most convenient for you. Please take a minute or so to complete our 2-question survey. Take the survey here.

If there are topics that would be of interest, we will work to connect with some experts in those fields, so please let us know.
