The Lowry Letter® - 3/29/2025

March 29, 2025

The first quarter of 2025 has come and gone with a bang. We don’t know what the rest of the year will hold, but as we’ve said many times, sound investment principles haven’t changed.

We are happy to discuss your specific needs and situation, especially if there has been a recent change.

  • We’ve never been particularly good at picking a strong NCAA Tournament bracket, but we aren’t alone. According to Bespoke, the odds of picking all 63 games correctly is 1 in 9.2 quintillion! Good luck to UF and we’ve already shed a tear for our beloved BYU.

  • This Freakonomics episode is a great look at our complex tax system and many myths surrounding it. The guest takes aim at all sides.

  • U.S. Customs and Border Protection has seized more illegally trafficked eggs than fentanyl in 2025. In fairness, many more people consume eggs than illicit drugs and egg products have been a commonly found item at border crossings for years.
