 October continued a rough stretch for the markets. Brad McMillan explains that “this is a normal pullback that makes sense given financial conditions. From what we see right now, prospects for the market over time are still positive.”

Economic news was good, which means that interest rates may remain higher for longer. Even if this puts pressure on the market in the short term, we have a good foundation for forward progress. For long-term investors, this is a critical thing to remember.

Last week’s Commonwealth National Conference was a great chance to gather important information and review best practices in financial planning and investment management. In this week’s Lowry Letter®, we share a few of the things we learned.

This week we are at the Commonwealth National Conference, and we look forward to sharing with you what we learn.

As residents of Greater Gainesville, we enjoy many aspects of a college town. As is our tradition, our physical office will be closed on Friday for University of Florida Homecoming festivities. We will be answering the phone and checking messages as usual. We hope our fellow locals enjoy the day and that the Gators have a better weekend!

September has continued a tough stretch for the markets, not an unusual pattern, but also not a fun reversal after the strong recovery we’ve experienced this year. It’s a good time to remember that we are in it for the long haul!
